Use reducing bushings to reduce the size of female threads from a larger to smaller diameter to connect different sized pipes. Male threads on the outside, female threads on the inside, and a hex head used to tighten the fitting into the threaded opening. This pipe fitting has a bronze finish with two ends that measure 1” and 1/2”.
